Not going to lie, digging through Shadowrun lore is a wild ride of awesome ideas and terrible world building. I think its greatest weaknesses right now are that it's having a hell of a time attracting new players, and its system. It's awful. I think SR4E or SR5E probably had the best core gameplay, but even then, I think for someone coming in from another system, it could be a deal breaker. Like, my gaming experience with it was in the SR2E and SR3E eras, and that was in the 90's where we were really conditioned for crunch and complex nonsense, and it was rough then. Shadowrun has been a problematic fave of mine for decades. I first fell in love with the game when I saw its cover and blurb in the FASA catalogue way back in 1992.
